Angelina Garner
Manager: Michgian Department of Education Technical Assistance and Coaching Support Services (TACSS)
Angelina Garneris the Manager of the Technical Assistance and Coaching Support Systems (TACSS) initiative, the goal of which is to provide coaching and consulting services to the Weikart Center’s clientele, including Michigan’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC).
Angelina has worked within the Youth Development field for over ten years which provided her a broad range of experiences in the field. Ms. Garner comes to the Weikart Center from Kansas City, Missouri where she was an Afterschool Professional Development Specialist for the Francis Institute and an Afterschool Regional Educator for the Missouri Afterschool Network (MASN). In Kansas City, she provided Technical Assistance and facilitated program self assessment for youth-serving organizations and school districts awarded national and state funding for afterschool initiatives.
Prior to joining the Francis Institute and MASN, she assumed the role of Manager of Technical Assistance and Site Development at YouthNet of Greater Kansas City. There she implemented program improvement plans and training for managers and youth workers in various youth-serving organizations. Ms. Garner has also had the pleasure of serving as a Coalition Steering Committee member for the Next Generation Youth Work Coalition.
Her philosophy and mission is to bring together individuals and organizations dedicated to developing a strong, diverse Youth Development workforce that is stable, supported and committed to the well being and empowerment of young people and communities.
